Each week you're set challenges and tasks in order to connect you with your inner artist. One thing you do each week is have a "play date". The idea is not that you do rigid, boring things that get you wound up in knots, but something fun, creative, childish and (my favourite bit) cheap. It can be spending the day drawing, or building sandcastles or playing with glitter.
Or you can make a dolly out of a wooden spoon as I did. I've had the spoons for a few weeks and thought I may make a doll out of them in some way. Today I had the whole day set aside for just that. I went to the haberdashery shop yesterday and bought bits and pieces to tart her up with and this morning, whilst listening to the Archers Omnibus, I set about working.
First she had to have some hair.
I'm so pleased with her and how she's turned out. She may have that home-spun look and she may be a bit cheap but I don't care. I absolutely adore her. For a first go I couldn't be more happy.
I love my dolly.

she looks very nice but will probably become a bit of a stirrer
great dolly! I love all my dolls too, glad I am not alone in the affection for inanimate objects department!
Rog - She likes to whisk twouble.
Karen - Dolly isn't a patch on your creations but I'm sure we both have fun with them. I'm thinking of lots of different colour ways. I'm sure you have the same problem.
Ooo, I love her beadwork-bottomed dress! Do you make them in bigger-than-a-wooden-spoon sizes? x
This is the first one I've ever made. It was a bit of fun. I do have larger spoons so who knows.
