A trip to York

The joy of being "up North" is that I'm only half an hour away from York, so this morning I grabbed my sketchbook, pencils and camera and jumped on a train.

It was so nice to just wander around and I'd forgotten how much I loved the city. I did a little retail therapy but mostly spent the day sketching and taking photos. Most o my photos were taken in the Minster.

I don't normally take pictures in cathedrals, however, the glass was too tempting and the minster isn't actually used as a place of regular worship so had less of the "hushed tones" feel that lots of churches do. Of course I did lots of sketching and tonal work too, but I wanted to share these.
